Hi and Welcome to Team 3rd Gen!
We're just a group of people that like to chat, share ideas, hang out together, etc. Most of us own a 3rd Generation Firebird or Camaro (F-Body), but that's not a requirement... you just have to love them! :)
As you can see, there are no restricted areas, even if you are not registered. Feel free to browse around to see if this is your kind of place. If you would like to respond or make a comment, you will need to register. Please take the time to register and make a post, we'd like to get to know you!  Hi everyone!
Well, the site continues to be slow and no matter what I do with the current host, it still seems to be the same. I have another hosting company now and I am planning on moving the site to a new location.
This will mean a couple of things:
1. The site will be down while the DNS entries are updated throughout the web. The max time for this should be 2 days (48 hours). Should be less for most.
2. I've tried and tried repeatedly to upgrade the site and preserve all of the posts. It just does not work due to the age of the forum software I'm using.... SO... ALL of the posts will be GONE once the move happens. So, write down what you need right NOW!
3. The site will have a little bit different look and feel. Some of the things on the site will not be here anymore due to lack of use, some will be better (been working on this for a while).
4. Pictures! Go to your photo album (Member Rides) and save any pictures that you do not have on your local computer. I plan on backing it all up, but the Member Rides will be different when the site is moved so you'll need to re-upload what you want. Good ole-fashion clean up time!
5. At this point, it looks like I "should" be able to move all of the user-names over to the new site. Maybe not though... so if you cannot sign on to the new site, look to see if I have information stating you need to create a new user account. I will keep all of the post counts either way so you won't have to be a newbie again!
6. Enjoy... invite friends, etc. I'm hoping the new host will wake the site up. If we are losing people or interest in the site due to the current response times, maybe this will get more peeps visiting and contributing.
7. This will most likely happen over the next 2 weeks or so. I will post 2 days in advance of the "Go-Live" date so everyone will know and will put a banner up telling you the site is moving while it is in progress.

 Hi everyone!! This is your webmaster and site maintenance man, BorgX. Since the beginning of this site, with only 3 exceptions, I have funded the cost of web hosting, domain name registration, development of the site, site backup, hacker fighting, etc. I feel the time has come for our community of users to support our site so I no longer have the majority of the burden. Now, please understand that I am not trying to be an ass or anything like that, but I never wanted the site to have the burden of supporting itself until it became established and there just never seemed to be a good time to do this, until now. And in all fairness, it was me not taking the time to actually do it.
I have put a block on the site (near the top to the right on the Home page) that lists the months expenses (listed as a goal) and the donations received for the month. What I am asking is that members of the site take it upon themselves to send a little donation (via PayPal) to support the site. Once the goal is met for the month (currently only $20 for hosting), everyone can sit back and enjoy themselves until the next month when I hope a different set of people will step up... hopefully this will continue throughout the life of the site.
The only real expenses are the cost of hosting which runs $19.95/month (pretty cheap for what we get actually!). I am not looking to make a single penny. If I receive ANY donations from an outside source, I will update the goal for the month to reflect this. I am also looking into revenue from banner ads, etc. to take the burden off all members, but I hate banners... :)

Well... out of 684 total users, 367 of them have NEVER posted. There's another 100 or so that have posted once or twice. Many more that haven't posted in months.
I will be cleaning up the old unused users in the near future. Obviously our total user count will drop SIGNIFICANTLY! I still cannot understand why people sign up and never post. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER TO VIEW ANY OF THIS SITE!
If you are reading this and have not posted in months and you want your user to remain, you better post. Thanks!
PS... all non-members after this will loose their member rides album as well...

 If you get an email from webmaster@team3rdgen.com with a subject of "Site Changes" do NOT open it. It is not from anyone here at Team3rdGen. Several people have received them. There doesn't appear to be a pattern and the emails are not being sent from the Team3rdGen server.
It is a virus. DELETE THE EMAIL IMMEDIATELY IF YOU RECEIVE ONE.

 If you own a business related to cars and/or the F-Body specifically, why not sponsor Team3rdGen?!?!?!?
The only requirements we have are:
** You be an honest business.
** You MUST give T3G Members a discount on anything they buy.
The site requires NO MONEY from you at all. We only want our members to benefit. This means that a Team3rdGen Sponsorship costs you absolutely nothing unless you generate business from the site... I'd say that's a win-win... wouldn't you?!?!
